Tennis Activities

Singles Pyramid League

A new format to play singles matches! Instead of a box league it will be a pyramid ladder and first you must challenge and beat a player on the same tier as yourself (the tiers are defined). When you have recorded a victory on your tier, you may challenge a player on the tier above. If you beat the player on the tier above, swap positions. The pyramid will be checked every 12 weeks and the winner will receive a prize. Also the person who has played the most matches that are recorded on the sheet of paper will receive a prize!

To enter the singles pyramid or if you require further information then please contact Paul Brown (pbrownbexleycoach@gmail.com)(07957396379)

Doubles Box League

The objective of the doubles box league is to provide fun games with a variety of opposition and some competition. You play 1 set of doubles with each of the other 3 players. The general movements within leagues is; 1 up, 1 down and 2 stay. Give the doubles box leagues a shot as it is a brilliant way to meet new people at the club and have fun playing at the same time! If you are interested then please contact Debbie Delves: debidelves@aol.com/07885109232

Ball Machine

If you want to practice your shots and are struggling to find anyone to play against then the ball machine is ideal. Please ask a member of staff behind the bar if you wish to use the machine. The cost is £5 per hour.

American Tournaments

Another way to meet people and gain experience is by participating in our American Tournaments which are normally held every month. Please check our website or Facebook regularly to see when the next American Tournament will take place.

Davis Cup

Players are ranked 1-5 and they play against their opposite number in the other teams in singles and doubles so the matches are fairly arranged. The team with the most number of games at the end of the event wins the tournament. The Davis Cup is a brilliant way to meet new members and have fun playing tennis! Once the event has finished players are welcome to stay for a barbecue and drinks!

Annual Club Championship

Each year members can enter a club championship that run through the summer season. The tournament consists of various categories for different levels and ages. Players that reach the finals play on a set date and this is a good chance for all the members of the tennis club to come and watch to support those players.

Timed Tennis

Timed Tennis tournaments are for junior players who are looking to compete in a friendly environment. The tournaments are available for players who play red, orange, green and yellow ball. Matches are timed and the player who has the most amount of games once the time has finished wins the match. All players will compete for 3 matches. The rules of how to play are explained on the day. Wins will be forwarded online to improve the players LTA rating. If you are interested in applying for Timed Tennis tournaments then please look out for emails, advertisement on our website or social media sites. Timed Tennis is the best way for players to start competing with a friendly environment and learning the rules of how to play matches.

Interclub Tournaments

Members within the club organise interclub tournaments which means that Bexley will play against another club and prizes will be presented for the winning team and also for individual efforts. The aim of playing interclub tournaments is to allow those players who do not play in the club team matches to experience a friendly competitive environment which can lead them onto representing their club.

Rackethon

Bexley's rackethon is brilliant fun! You play your opponent at table tennis, short tennis, racketball and tennis, each sport is played to 21 points and the player with the most points across all four sports wins the Racketlon match. This relatively simple description hides a wonderful sport filled with intricacy, mental pressure, tactics and a huge amount of fun. Ultimately in Racketlon, every point counts and that makes it an intriguing, exciting and fantastic sport to play. Make sure you sign up!

Pimms Tournament

People's favourite tournament of the year undoubtedly! It consists of playing doubles matches and once you have finished a round you can wait for your next match whilst drinking a glass of pimms. Make sure you sign up early as spaces go quick for this event!!!
